At ground level, the building occupies a footprint. Place another constructed level above it and the land does not grow—the building gains more floor.
Land spreads horizontally.

03 Shift
Use a 900 sq ft illustrative floor plate. Choose a configuration, then read the number as constructed levels—not as a stylistic label.
04 System
Ground means one level. G+2 means Ground plus two upper floors—three constructed levels in total.
Extra floor area is not free space. A rental building may value independent floor access; a family home may need easy movement between generations.
