Knowing the product name is not the same as understanding the specification.

02 Questions
A useful specification explains what is supplied, where it is used, why it is appropriate and who approved it.
Where is it specified, and who selected it?
Floor-to-floor or clear finished height?
What exact layers are used, and where?
What changes in mortar, plaster and fixing?
What backup period produced the capacity?
What exact material is used at each point?
03 Change
If a contractor substitutes a lower specification, ask what changed, where it is being used and whether the designer approved it.
What exactly is being supplied?
04 Finish
Choose the next question that reveals the actual system and its location.
Specification = product or grade + location + purpose + system + approval.
