Fabrication becomes architecture only after it works.

A railing exists because there is an edge: a stair, balcony, terrace or level difference. Before choosing stainless steel, wood, glass or another finish, confirm that the railing performs safely for its actual location.

Exact heights, openings and loading requirements should follow the applicable design and building requirements for the project.

02 Options

The visible material changes the experience, not the need for good fabrication.

Railings and gates can use very different finishes, but anchoring, joints, exposure, movement and maintenance still determine whether the finished work performs well.

Stainless steel

Practical and durable

Can provide corrosion resistance, easy cleaning and strong fabricated construction. Grade, weld quality, joint finishing, anchoring and proportions still matter.

Metal + wood

Warm to touch

A wooden handrail can improve tactile feel and character, but introduces finishing, movement, moisture sensitivity and maintenance.

Glass + metal

Open and visually light

Glass can preserve views and transmit light, but the glass, support system, fixing and edge detailing become part of the safety system.

MS gate

Strong and flexible

Mild steel offers robust and economical fabrication, but exterior exposure makes proper corrosion protection essential.

03 Detail

More design creates more things to resolve.

Designer gates may combine metal frames with HPL or other exterior-suitable finish panels. CNC or laser-cut panels can create patterns, privacy and custom geometry, but also introduce more edges, finishing work and surfaces requiring protection.

Gate weight matters. A large metal gate affects hinges, posts, foundations or supports, rollers and the motor if the gate is automated.

Automation adds convenience, but also adds power, controls, sensors, manual override and servicing. The gate must still work properly as a gate before automation is added.

Ask before approval
What supports it, protects it and keeps it working?
  • Are railing and gate anchoring points structurally adequate?
  • Are welds clean and properly executed?
  • Are touch edges safely finished?
  • Does the gate move without fighting its frame?
  • Are corners and welds properly protected from corrosion?
  • Can water drain instead of becoming trapped in metal details?
  • Do the gate, latch, lock, motor and manual release all operate correctly?

04 Check

Choose the railing in the right order.

The visible finish should come after safety, exposure and structural fixing have been resolved.
