Plinth waterproofing helps stop ground moisture from moving into walls and finishes.

The expensive-looking product is not the whole answer. Waterproofing only works when the barrier is continuous and applied in the right place.

The actual layer, surface preparation, laps and location matter more than a prestige word.

03 Continuity

A barrier fails at its gaps.

The meaningful lower end is β€œno dedicated waterproofing.” That is not automatically failure, but the project still needs a clear damp-proof strategy.

If nobody can explain what stops moisture at the plinth, that is the warning sign.

  • How is the surface prepared?
  • What happens at corners and laps?
  • How are pipe penetrations detailed?
  • If it says premium, what exact layer build-up is included?

Separate a sheet from a coating.

Both may resist moisture, but their form and detailing are different.

Which creates a pre-formed continuous membrane?
