Luxury is not the number of fixtures.

A bathroom has to fit people, water, fixtures, movement, storage, drainage and maintenance into a relatively small space.

A WC, basin and shower already make a complete bathroom. The quality comes from how comfortably those functions are arranged—not from squeezing another object into the room.

02 Options

Upgrade selectively, not automatically.

A compact bathroom can work extremely well with a WC, basin and shower. More specification becomes useful only when the room and the user genuinely benefit from it.

Common or secondary bathrooms may remain efficient while the master bathroom receives more storage, a larger vanity, better wet-and-dry separation or better fittings.

A bathtub or another additional fixture can work well, but it also needs floor area, water supply, drainage, waterproofing and cleaning access.

Better finish, tactile quality, shower experience and design may be worthwhile, but the hidden system still has to support them.

03 System

The bathroom is a small building system.

Water has to arrive, sometimes be heated, reach the fitting with usable pressure, remain inside waterproofed areas and then leave through drainage. Ventilation, lighting, tiling and maintenance all have to coordinate with that sequence.

A large rain shower may look impressive but perform poorly if the plumbing cannot provide enough pressure, flow or hot-water capacity.

Concealed mixers and valves also deserve attention because once waterproofing and tiles close the wall, servicing hidden components becomes more invasive.

Ask before approval
If this part ever needs servicing, how will it be reached?
  • Are fixture positions and door swings finalised before tiles?
  • Are concealed bodies the correct model and installation depth?
  • Has the plumbing been pressure-tested before finishes close it?
  • Are waterproofing and drain levels checked before expensive surfaces arrive?
  • Can valves and hidden components remain serviceable?
  • Can the water system actually support demanding showers and fittings?

04 Check

Protect function before adding fixtures.

If a bathroom already feels tight with its WC, basin and shower, adding another fixture is unlikely to create luxury.

Remember Luxury is how comfortably the room works.
